sophication

So what’s going on with Sophie right now? She’s learning to read– she’s making progress and enjoys doing it very much. She is always asking me to sit down and do another lesson with her. I wonder sometimes if I should, I don’t want her to burn out, but for the most part, I seize the moment and read with her as long as I can.

Sophie is very much enjoying being a big sister. She can make Lillian laugh like no one else. You can tell that Lillie really loves Sophie, despite having been hung upside down by her on more than one occasion. Sophie and Lillie shared an apple fruit leather the other day and it was an exciting, sticky moment for both of them.

Sophie is doing very well in preschool, she is learning so share and not be so bossy. During parent-teacher conference she was described as “an alpha female”, so we are working on encouraging her personality and spunk while also teaching her to be more aware of the feelings and rights of others.

Finally, we are working on manners with Sophie. She has been practicing her meal time manners, with the eventually goal of having a special dinner out with Mommy and Daddy (no Lillie) to use those manners we have been practicing. Feel free to remind her if you see her getting out of line while eating at your house.

Sophie is getting bigger and smarter and prettier everyday. I am very very lucky to have such a funny and entertaining girl to play with all day.
