Rag Curls

We are reading “Little House In The Big Woods” with Sophie right now. In the book, Laura Ingalls gets her hair put up into rag curls and so Sophie had to do it too. So here we are putting up her hair. Even though she winced because it hurt, she was determined to do it and sat as still as she could.

She looked just as cute with the rag curlers IN as she looked the next morning with the finished product.
Curly Sophie!

Everywhere Sophie went in her new curls everyone said, “Where is Sophie? This can’t be Sophie”. At school the teachers teased that there was a new girl in school. Of course, Sophie finds this wildly funny.

That is so precious. Rag curls look good on Sophie. I remember when I read “Little House in the Big Woods” to Becky and she needed rag curls, too. I can’t wait to sew her a calico dress to complete the look.

I love the hair Sophie. I do my hair the same way. Nothing seems to work as good as the old fashioned rag curl.

Sophie is very excited to get her calico dress. She squealed when I told her about it. Of course, she wants to look for pink calico.

To Veronica, Sophie says: “Maybe we could do our hair together so we would be matching. And have the same matching shirts, too”

The curls wonderful when we saw them Monday night, but still really cute on Monday. When I asked about combing or brushing them, Sophie was horrified–”They’ll come out” she wailed. I’m glad you had pictures of the rag session.
