sophication

A man who lives down the street from us came by today to prune some city owned trees in front of our house. Sophie, who loves to ask questions and strike up a conversation, asked the man what he was doing and why. He told her that he volunteers for the city to care for the trees on our street, as the city has one three-man crew responsible for all of the trees in Eugene and spends most of it’s time dealing with diseased and dangerous trees. Sophie was glad to hear that the pruned branches with be thrown in the chipper and put to good use somewhere.

Sophie visited with him as he worked and she helped him carry the branches over to his wheelbarrow when he was done pruning.
