Sophie started first grade at Parker Elementary School today. Here she is, getting ready to leave. We couldn’t find a lunchbox that we liked for her, so Becky bought a blank one and painted it herself. Sophie loves it

Sophie is very good friends with the women who write the Moss Street Newsletter. She made the front page this month.

I told Shad to have her back by lunchtime, by 12:30 at the latest. And when they rolled in at 1:15, they had this story…
Shad and Sophie went to Mount Pisgah Arboretum (where we got married) just to walk around and hike.
But they ran into a work party that was working on laying down new bark, etc. Sophie asked if she could help and of course, they took her up on it. Sophie always finds fun in working and being around people.
The man on the tractor is Theodore and he was the one who organized the party. After working and driving the tractor around, Theodore told Sophie that it was his birthday and asked if she would like to come to his party. So Sophie’s work paid off, she got to hang out with new friends AND get birthday cake!
Pretty typical Sophie and I wasn’t mad that she was late.
